Sandy Scarrow

Sandy Scarrow is a horticultural consultant with 18 years experience working in the Bay of Plenty.  She began work as a Horticultural Advisory Officer in Whakatane after graduating from Massey with a Bachelor of Horticultural Science.  Sandy continued with Agriculture New Zealand when it was sold by MAF until she and her colleagues undertook a management buy out to form Fruition Horticulture in November 2003.  Typically her work is focused on consultancy, policy analysis and training in the kiwifruit industry but also involves environmental projects such as one looking at the sustainable management of on-farm plastics and unwanted agrichemicals.

Ruth Underwood

Bachelor of Horticultural Science (Hons)

Ruth has worked as a horticultural consultant since graduating from Massey university in 1986 with a first class honors degree.  Initially Ruth worked in Hawke’s Bay, shifting to the Bay of Plenty in 1987.  Ruth was involved in the management buyout of the horticultural consultancy business of Agriculture New Zealand in November 2003.

Ruths work is primarily policy analysis coordinating the MAF Kiwifruit Model for the financial monitoring report and working as a policy agent for MAF.  Some key pieces of work Ruth has contributed to include being the lead author of a report investigating the economic impact of a fruit fly incursion on the kiwifruit industry.  Ruth also contributes to the training undertaken by Fruition Horticulture.   

 Bob Parker
Horticultural Consultant, Shareholder and Director

Bob has worked in numerous parts of New Zealand as a Horticultural Advisory Officer for MAF since 1963, eventually settling in the Bay of Plenty.  Bob is primarily focused on on-orchard consultancy; Bob also runs an irrigation scheduling service providing advice on water management to growers as far away as South Auckland and Gisborne.  Bob is an accredited GROWSAFE trainer and regularly offers courses for growers and farmers in the Bay of Plenty.

 Adminstration and Technical Team

Administrative support and technical support is provided by a range of people, suitably qualified in their specialist area.
